Lucas Fernando Kontny (b. 1999 in Freiburg) is a German-Brazilian documentary photographer whose work explores social and political conflicts as well as how life carries on around it. He develops long-term projects based on research, observation and close contact with the people he photographs. Moving between reportage and a more reflective, visual approach, he looks at how broader events shape everyday lives. He is currently studying at the Ostkreuzschule and lives and works between Berlin and Freiburg.
